Visiting Malta during winter and unsure of what to do?
Malta is a destination that can be visited all year round. If your aim is to go swimming, get a tan or lie on the beach, then maybe going in winter isn’t the best option for you. However, you can equally have just as fun at this small but great archipelago under Italy.
Malta is abundant in history, mostly due to its succession of powers, including the Phoenicians, Romans, Moors, Normans, Sicilians, Spanish, French and British (yes, you can even see the famous British telephone booth in some areas). Because of these rulers, Malta has transformed into a mixture of different cultures, a lot of it you can see in the types of buildings they have.
I’m sure like me, most of you would only post the best photos on Instagram, but in order to do that, you’ll need to find that picture perfect spot that would make all your friends jealous!
You’d think that after being here for almost 2 years, I would’ve explored all parts of London, but there is so much more to see. Below are just some of my favourite locations around this diverse, old and modern city.
Make sure you add some or all of these places the next time you’re in London!
Immerse yourself in the old and new of Toyko. There’s no other country in the world that I feel combines its culture, history and heritage with its modern, technology-driven side of things other than Japan. It’s no wonder that so many travellers from around the world are drawn to the destination.
Let’s be honest, for me it was probably the food. You can learn about what I ate while I was there in my ‘Japan eats‘ post.
Live in the UK / Europe and think having a white Christmas is overrated?
Don’t get me wrong, being an Australian I think having a white Christmas is super magical. However, after going through a number of Christmas markets, trees, lights and mulled wine, you kind of want to do something a little different.
This was when I decided to book myself a trip to Marrakech, Morocco. Now being a Muslim country, you don’t get much of the biblical association (i.e. Christmas in general) but you do get an exciting cultural experience that I can guarantee, is 100% different to what you’ve seen before.

There’s no doubt that Japan has some of the coolest (or weirdest) things in the world. Whether it be a dancing robot show whilst you’re having dinner or sipping coffee at a dog café…or a cat café…or an owl café…
Some people say that you should learn a few essential words from every country you visit, for example ‘hello‘ and ‘thank you’. But there’s only one word you need to learn in Japanese and that’s ITADAKIMASU – a.k.a Let’s EAT!
